Contemporary portraits
- It's with great excitement, that I'm launching today, a new genre of photography: "contemporary portraits". Using my french heritage, I will call it, in my blog, "La Femme". Because it's a celebration of us women, today, everyday. When we pamper ourselves a little, slip on our nice dress, we all belong on the front cover of a fashion magazine. We are all that beautiful! I'm drawn to beauty, I see it in everything and everyone, let me show you how I see you through my lens. Today, is an introduc [...]
Camden & Carson, double joy!
- It wasn't an easy pregnancy, but such a reward in the end. 9 weeks early, after weeks of bed rest for Catherine, came Camden and Carson. When they arrived in their matching car seats in my studio, I thought they were identical, but as their parents, Catherine and Jeff told me, I was soon able to tell them apart. They are not identical, here Jeff is holding Camden on the left (of image) and Carson to the right. Plenty of sweet pictures to share today. Relaxing, Camden Carson, Camde [...]
Tessa, Pensacola senior photographer
- It's when I meet girls like Tessa that I'm comforted about the teenage years ahead of us. Living life at it's full (in french we would say "elle croque la vie a pleine dents"="she's bitting life with all her teeth"), an accomplished athlete, a great circle of friends, a good relation with her parents (oh, I so appreciate!), Tessa is a beautiful girl with a great appetite for life, and a wonderful smile that just irradiate, and her eyes... Oh those green lagoon eyes!
Cutting
- There's an aura of admiration and awe around the blue angels. Here in Pensacola, there is a sense of pride to be Home to the elite group of pilot. When CJ and Anne came to me with his "retired" blue angel uniform to use as the cover of their son's, Christian's album, I thought it was a terrific idea. So much sentimentality, such a perfect way to convey what was happening in his family at the time of his birth, without having to glue memorabilia all over his album. However, once alone facing [...]
Bliss
- One could say they took a very long time to start dating... Laura and Joe have known each other since they were wearing diapers. Only in college did they become a tandem, but they've been building a universe of memories since their early childhood. And when you hang out with them just a little you get a glimpse of their solid bond. It's the strength and ease you find in couples who've been together a lifetime, with the spark of young love. I left our session last week with a happy feeling, [...]
Big Sky
- 6 days in snow, it felt wonderful! A little cold, very cold actually, although the locals complained it was a hot winter... I must have become a Floridian all the way now, because it just felt freezing to me. We've been going to Big Sky several times, and the beautiful landscape has me in awe every time, the light there is remarkable perhaps because the horizon is so distant, perhaps because of the mountains... I wish I could hold some photography sessions there, just dreaming a little. 6 d [...]
It was about time!
- It was about time! We've been friends for over 25 years, my first born is 14, my youngest 8, and finally Fred is having children. It was about time! I was thrilled to celebrate their engagement: She sweet talked me into photographing their wedding in Paris: I promise I will eventually post a generous group of images from that fabulous day. And Finally a baby! I am so happy for my friends. Isabelle may have come a little later than I had hoped, our children will not grow up playing in a [...]
Olivia
- This weather is something else! Where is the winter??? Here in Pensacola, I'm photographing babies taking a bath outdoors... Perhaps those deep in snow somewhere around the globe would gladly trade their place with us, however a little cool would be welcome, just enough to pull out of the closet our nice sweaters (weather request totally fashion motivated). Today, I'm sharing a few images from Olivia's session. I think her parents should start to check if Rapunzel will accept a room mate. Renee [...]
Marlyn
- Happy New Year to everyone! Well, it's been a while... It was Christmas and it had been a long long time since all my family had come to visit. It wasn't really "all" my family, but a generous group nonetheless, we were 18 frenchies celebrating. We celebrate with gargantuesques meals, I'm on a diet now, a classic new year resolution. It was a fabulous time, very busy, but it all went by too quickly! I photographed little Marlyn just before they all started arriving and I am very grateful to [...]
Skyler, miracle baby/Pensacola children Photographer
- All babies are miracles, but not a gift to all. This family endured 6 years of several rounds of unsuccessful IVFs and a failed adoption procedure. I can't imagine the emotional roller-coaster it must have been for them, and now finally a "surprise" baby, an unexpected miracle. Amanda said at first she couldn't believe she was pregnant, even when her belly started growing, but then, the baby kicking inside her made it all real. He is just perfect.
Halloween
- I hope everyone had a joyous Halloween with many adorable trick-or-treaters at their door. I saw many clever costumes and excited little faces, smeared with candy. One of our neighbors goes "all out" on Halloween and has the most intriguing decorations about his propriety, my children have named his house the cool scary house. Among our favorite items, he has a witch's broom wondering (on it's own!!) around his sidewalk, sculpted bust tombstones talking, a witch slowly unfolding herself from [...]
Winning=feels really good!
- The announcement of the NAPCP image competition was finally released Friday, and I've been riding cloud 9th up on the 7th sky since then. Back in July, as I was frantically busy getting ready for our summer trip to France, I received an email from the NAPCP regarding their annual international competition. The entry's deadline was end of July, but I had only a day to pack and to decide which images to use. Too much to do, too little time for it all, but how would I ever experience the joy of [...]
