- Despite the general guidance of having your newborn pictures taken within 2-3 weeks after birth, you can still have beautiful newborn images done later... exhibit A here today. This little man was born a little early at 6lbs 2.4oz. I photographed him in my studio at 7 weeks and a little more than 9lbs 7oz. It's always worth a try! And he did great, we were able to get all the 10 poses we aim for each baby in a mini session. Added bonus all the beautiful chunky little rolls!
I still strong [...]

- Embracing the Gift of New Life:
In the face of loss and adversity, this family has chosen to embrace the gift of new life with open arms and hearts full of love. As they welcome their precious daughter into the world, they honor the memory of her sister and celebrate the beauty of life's miracles. May these images serve as a reminder of the resilience of the human spirit, the enduring power of love, and the beauty of new beginnings.

- As the enchanting aura of Christmas enveloped our surroundings, I had the pleasure of capturing some heartwarming moments with one of my last little clients of 2023 – a delightful little ginger. His full head of hair not only captivated my lens but also my heart!
I was also very excited to use my new wooden box from "hellolittle props"
Little man had fomo and refused to go to sleep at the beginning of our session. We got plenty of great expressions with his eyes open. Inevitably, he di [...]

- I had the pleasure of capturing sweet Kesslen's moments right around Thanksgiving. Amidst the whirlwind of events since then, I admittedly fell behind on my blogging and social media updates. However, I'm thrilled to be getting back into the groove, and what better way to start than with this adorable baby girl!
During the photo session, Kesslen's parents joined in, expressing their desire to be a part of the pictures. Kesslen's mom had conducted thorough research and had specific poses in mi [...]

- I must admit I was slightly nervous to photograph these 2 beautiful twins... They were born a little early and Sophie was 5.4 lbs, so I decided to give them a little time to grow some before I photographed them. Typically we have a short window of time to capture the tininess of a newborn, but life got in the way and by the time I had them in my studio, James had blossom from a 7.4 premi to a healthy 12.8 lbs boy! And that was a fun challenge! Never knowing how a shoot will go with one, much l [...]

- 2 years ago, I photographed Ariana's brother, Jeffrey. We got some of my favorite pictures that day and I've used some in my marketing pieces. In fact, I recently hung one of his images as a big gallery wrapped canvas in "Storkland" . The coolest store if you are an expecting mama or a new mom. Ariana's mom was so excited when she was in there shopping and noticed Jeffrey's picture on the wall. Ariana's session went just as well as her brother's and I have several favorites this time around [...]

- It almost felt like a "deja vu" kinda experience: because 2 years ago I photographed her sister, "Nova" and I think their mama had a set of twins where one came in 2 years later! Go check Nova's pictures, and tell me what you think in the comments. I was super excited to try out one of my new swings, you know I'm always investing in new props and have something never used before for every baby session I have. Even more thrilling are repeat clients! Thank you Amanda for choosing me to photogr [...]

- Is it weird to say I fall in love with each baby who comes into my studio? Because I truly do, and Brycen sure stole our hearts too when we photographed him. I don't know, perhaps it's the mother instinct we all have inside that kicks in, but let me hold a baby and I just melt inside and get overcome with peace. I find it so soothing to care for a baby. And when I'm entrusted with yours, I will care for him like he is mine, with the utmost love and patience. And while you rest, we'll make g [...]

- What a wide range of color line up for Zuri's session! Don't be afraid to choose colors for your newborn session, it always turns out beautiful. When I started photographing newborns some 16 years ago, I didn't have much experience and I stuck to the most simple set ups. I only had black as a backdrop option and most of my pictures were edited in B&W because it is very forgiving (think blotchy newborn skin, redness...) Also, B&W has always been considered "classic" so it gave the pictures a t [...]

- I often tell parents their baby was the perfect model, and I always mean it. Truthfully I'm determined to get all the poses in my workflow for each baby that comes into my studio. Some take a little while to fall asleep and so I'll focus first on the awake pictures, but eventually they all get into a good slumber and that's when the magic happens. Little Sevyn started her session awake, but then was so sleepy I couldn't even get her eyes to open for her "mugshots". All the cajoling in the wo [...]

- I first met Ashley 6 years ago when I photographed "Adria", then a couple years later, "Gavin". Ashley is telling me little Jaina is the caboose of their family, though they are exploring adoption because they still have a lot of love to spread. I will always remember our first encounter (it's a fascinating story, click on the highlighted word "Adria" above to take you there, and then on "Gavin"). This very special job of mine allows me to meet new people and it is such an honor to continue [...]

- It was only barely a year ago that I photographed "Lena" Hayes older sister! She was such a doll and aced her first modeling gig with me. Her sweet little brother did just as well, and I can't wait to have them both in for sibling pictures. Sometimes we do it in 2 separate sessions, so we can fully focus on baby before we bring in a toddler. This family loves fishing, the water and we were able to find some beautiful digital backgrounds to incorporate into Hayes' session.
