- It wasn't an easy pregnancy, but such a reward in the end. 9 weeks early, after weeks of bed rest for Catherine, came Camden and Carson. When they arrived in their matching car seats in my studio, I thought they were identical, but as their parents, Catherine and Jeff told me, I was soon able to tell them apart. They are not identical, here Jeff is holding Camden on the left (of image) and Carson to the right. Plenty of sweet pictures to share today.

- It was about time! We've been friends for over 25 years, my first born is 14, my youngest 8, and finally Fred is having children. It was about time! I was thrilled to celebrate their engagement:

- This weather is something else! Where is the winter??? Here in Pensacola, I'm photographing babies taking a bath outdoors... Perhaps those deep in snow somewhere around the globe would gladly trade their place with us, however a little cool would be welcome, just enough to pull out of the closet our nice sweaters (weather request totally fashion motivated).

- Happy New Year to everyone!
Well, it's been a while... It was Christmas and it had been a long long time since all my family had come to visit. It wasn't really "all" my family, but a generous group nonetheless, we were 18 frenchies celebrating. We celebrate with gargantuesques meals, I'm on a diet now, a classic new year resolution. It was a fabulous time, very busy, but it all went by too quickly!

- All babies are miracles, but not a gift to all. This family endured 6 years of several rounds of unsuccessful IVFs and a failed adoption procedure. I can't imagine the emotional roller-coaster it must have been for them, and now finally a "surprise" baby, an unexpected miracle. Amanda said at first she couldn't believe she was pregnant, even when her belly started growing, but then, the baby kicking inside her made it all real. He is just perfect.

- Starting life with such a lovely name, it's Greek origin means "grace", and it's Welsh origin means "love". Isn't it a perfect, unique name? Whitney and Cameron, I hope the pacifier has proven a good thing by now, it really was very helpful during our session. I think you'll have beautiful memories of this fleeting time.

- Grinning from ear to ear, with the sweetest dimples, is John. I think the last image on this post is probably the biggest smile I've ever photographed on a newborn, and with this picture in hand, I challenge anyone to tell me newborns don't smile (John is 7 days old here).

- I'm sharing quite a few pictures here today. I'm under the spell of this little family, their tenderness toward one an other touched me deeply. Anne had a very long labor, to finally have a C section, and only 5 days later they came for their session. Anne was a trouper, as I'm sure she was still sore, and CJ was totally at ease with their little one. I wanted to post many images because CJ, a Blue Angel pilot had to leave for a 3 weeks mission. - Each milestone of a child's development has a specific interest for me, from a photographic stand point. With newborns, I like to emphasize their small size, their curled up fetal preferred position. For infants, 6 months old, I love their chubbiness, but especially their expressions. They are not yet "camera aware", and are so honest in front of a camera. If only to catch their many expressions, I think a session at this stage of your baby's life is a must. - If you haven't had a chance to experience it in your love life, you get an other chance at it (everyone does, no exceptions!) when you have a baby. It's love at first sight in its glory, it invades and swells up your heart in a magical instant. It's definitely what happened to Hannah's parents. I suspect that for her mother, Jessica, it wasn't as sudden as for Andrew. - Finley should still be growing in the comfort of Michelle's tummy, she was not due until September 7th. Yet, she came early, very early, on June 15th. She had to stay 63 days in the hospital, before she was release to finally go home for the first time. Only 3 days later, she was in my studio, and along her parents brought me some honey from their bees! Love it! I like honey so much that I'll turn down nutella for a toast with the delicious golden syrup... (that says a lot!)
