Our water filters
A little over 10 years ago, we read reports about water quality, and it prompted us to install an elaborate water filter system to "purify" the city water feeding our entire house. We have four 3 feet long and 6.5" diameter gigantic filters in our garage filtering the water coming from the street into our house, 4 more small filters for our kitchen sink, and again 4 filters for our freezer (for ice cubes and cold drinking water). Therefore, throughout the house, our water is filtered from the [...]
Julia & Max
One day..I'll be all caught up...that is when "chicken will have teeth" (french expression).
In the mean time, I will keep trying. Today, I'm sharing pictures of Julia and Max. It seems that not so long ago, I showed up at their house, with suitcases filled with backdrops and props to photograph Julia as a newborn. Now she's a vivacious little girl, with a giant lovely smile, so tender and caring with her little brother Max. And little Max, all boy in that precious investigative stage, will [...]
Us!
It's so rare for me to be on the other side of the lens. At best, once a year, around Christmas, I manage to get everyone committed to a family session. Like everyone else, I start by agonizing a little about where, when can we make the time with our ever busy schedules, what to wear.. (sounds familiar?), but quickly get my senses back and remember to just get it done! And I'm sooooo thankful to have occasionally a few pictures of my very favorite people in the world with me. To have forever [...]
Edie
Meet sweet little Edie, 28 days when I photographed her. A little "old" by my standards, I've been known to encourage parents to come straight from the hospital to my studio.... However, it was an excellent session, this little angel slept through it all, with a little brake for her bottle, and at the end opened her eyes for a few frames.
On my new stump,
I love the way she covered her face. Her parents said she was also a little camera shy for her ultrasounds.
Special day in our lives
My first born, Will is turning 13! We are officially entering the teens. Will is a fine young teenager, and although at times I'm impatient to see what his future holds, what he will become, I'm also in no rush to press time. Seriously, I can see this day 13 years ago so clearly, I can almost feel it happening, the drive to the hospital, room 7 at baptist, all our families and friends, his face when I first saw him, that rush of love for this new little person in our lives... It's so vivid! [...]
Maggie & Saylor
Happy new year to all! Christmas happened in a whirlwind for us, we have been under construction for most of 2010, and just a couple days before the grand holiday, when our company was arriving, we were putting the final touches to our guest house. I have been overwhelmed by the process, it kept me very busy with little time left for my photography... back on track now. First post this year will be to share my top favorite subjects, new borns, twins! double the fun!
A very special family too [...]
A little bit of us
I don't always think of sharing pictures of us on the blog, but here are a few I took this past spring, when our little cousins from Washington came for a visit.
Tayloe, Olivia, Magalie, Will and John.
Every Christmas, as part of their wish list, my children ask for a little brother... not happening! John makes a wonderful little brother when he's around, otherwise Coco (our sweet little dog) fulfills her duty of being the 4th child in this family.

Izzy
A little traveling... all the way to Fairhope to photograph Izzy in her last year of high school. It's only a little over an hour away from us, but somehow it has a very different feel. There are streets to walk on, flowers decorating the town, beautiful neighborhoods with majestic ancient trees. It's a beautiful town, with the Gulf on one side and agricultural fields with grazing cows on the other... a photographer's paradise...
It was so exciting for me to work in a new location, I wished [...]
Who would have thought?
That's right! We've acquired a little mobile home, an airstream, 19 feet. Bambi, as we affectionately call it, or the silver bullet. I never, in a million years, would have envisioned our family camping in any way. I tried it once, when I was 20. I keep fond memories of that dreadful weekend in "Bretagne", because I was with very special friends, but it rained the whole time, and although the place was charming, the tandem bike ride lovely, the constant cold wet weather was miserable. He [...]
Reid
"as young as 3 days old" is my motto to photograph newborns, but Reid was a couple days shy of being 3 weeks old. Yet it was a fabulous session, to be fair he was a little over 5 weeks early, so technically he should still be floating in Courtney's belly... Like all newborn I photograph, I fell in love with him, so sweet, cuddly, just peaceful. I have 3 children. You would think I have the coolest images of them as newborns, but no, not one. It will be forever one of my biggest regrets. At [...]
Brooke
From Navarre High school, in her last year, Brooke. The weather was beautiful that day, in fact it has been gorgeous ever since. Brooke came with several lovely outfit, mind you anything would look fantastic on her. She has the most luscious long hair, stunning blue eyes and dazzling smile. Check out my new "old camera", a special find this summer on the flea market of Aix-en-Provence, it was made by the brothers Lumiere (which in french means light, what an appropriate name!)

Alyssa & Jenna
I don't know how this happened but I forgot to post the images of sweet Alisa. She'll celebrate her first birthday next month!!! Without further ado,
