Last week, I drove to Mary Esther to meet this wonderful family and photograph their 8 days old little girl. I had, as always, the best of time playing with a newborn, and miss Lucy was the sweetest model. We went through many poses without much trouble. However, it is no surprise this little princess is so gentle. Her parents, Kellen and Kimberly are adorable, and already so loving and caring for their precious little one. Kellen is a pilot in the Air Force, soon to return for his eleventh trip to Afghanistan, he is bonding at super speed with his little girl. I was in awe of his connection with Lucy.
Having visited a good number of families in the past 2-3 years, I have noticed a new phenomenon, that I’ve come to categorize as the “modern dad” (as opposed to the less contemporary dad, totally helpless with a new born, and by extension somewhat challenged with household related duties…). No judgement here on my part, I just hadn’t been exposed to the modern dads until recently, but if I had known before, I might have tried to clue in my love (Henry, my hubby)… He still thinks babies sleep through the night from the day they come home from the hospital…
I left their house so happy to have met them, and to have had the opportunity to photograph Lucy, who probably has changed a lot already. Thank you to both and I wish you the very best on this long journey of parenthood.

WOW!!! What a great photographer.....but it makes all the difference in the world that she had the most beautiful baby ~which she no doubt gets from her beautiful mommy and daddy!! I'm a bit jealous that I didn't get the opportunity first! (darn miles between us anyhow!!) Love you all!
