Beautiful Family

Oh my! Little Emma has grown, you might remember her newborn pictures
It just seemed like yesterday to me. This family is so sweet, and big brother Brian was very patient through the session, even though he had a cool play date waiting for him to go to.

Emma’s mom had this beautiful dress for her to wear, one of those we just have to buy, but we only get to put on a couple of times. I’m glad we have some pictures with it.

I love those big blue eyes!!

Pumpkin patch with the girls

It’s been a really busy weekend. The good kind of busy. It started with second shooting a beautiful wedding for Patsy Brown on Friday. Then it was all family time, I took the girls to the pumpkin patch to choose our jack-o-lanterns, where I manage to take a few pictures. We didn’t celebrate Halloween in France when I was a child, and I have years of excitement to catch up with! This is one of my favorite holidays here (actually there are many more, as an America there are plenty of celebrations), and I love all the fall colors, the kids are always so happy to choose pumpkins, it all makes for great images…

We’ve come a long way… they weren’t always so thrilled to see me with my camera.

Here we are about to leave with our prize pumpkins. They weren’t the biggest, but still heavy enough to have me nervous the girls might drop them, and the whole things shatter…

Then we went to a wonderful children Halloween party. It is always so much fun to see everyone’s costumes, there were some cute Yogi toddlers, adorable wonder-woman… I have the hardest time holding a conversation there, because I’m so busy taking it all in. We stayed till the end, and the night was pretty dark by the time we started heading to our car. I had to run to catch up with Henry, and took one of the worst fall in history. I’m sure it all happened in a split second, but as I realized I had lost my footing, I had enough time to go through many thoughts: “Oh man, I’m going to eat the pavement, this one is going to leave a MARK, it’s going to hurt real bad, MY CAMERA!!! SAVE THE CAMERA!!!” I tried my best to spare my right side, and I was sprawled on the ground, after flying in the air. Thank God it was dark, because after my camera, my main concern was that nobody saw the embarrassing fall. I got up real quick, caught up with the rest of my crew, and have been hurting since then (24 hours ago!!) I’m happy to report that my camera was successfully protected as my left side took the blunt of the fall, and only has a little scratch. Whereas I’ve lost a lot of skin in many different areas of my body. I guess Meg’s Hannah Montana blond wig gave sufficient padding to the camera tucked in my purse. I made a little drawing: all the purple arrows point to my many scratches (it’s a mystery to me how I manage to hit so many places in just one fall?):

Nothing like a little pain to remind you how lucky we are on any giving day, when we think things are just plain.
We finished the weekend with a picnic on the beach, enjoying this awesome weather, and finding loads of beautiful shells.

Mini Christmas session

It’s almost Christmas season again! Every year I get a lot of Christmas cards requests and soon it’s a a rush against time to have everyone set up. After the holidays I always promise myself to be better prepared the next time around. I’m finally trying something new, which will hopefully work out for all. I’m offering these mini sessions, tentative dates: Monday Oct 27, and Tuesday Oct 29, possibly more depending on the response I’ll get.
How it works:

I will be in the Pensacola downtown area, with plenty of nice architecture, textures..

  • They will last half an hour only
  • For groups of 6 (can add more family members for $15 each)
  • You’ll have an on line gallery of your images for 14 days
  • You’ll get 50 custom design cards printed (both sides) on pearl, art, or linen paper
  • The session are $275 for 50 5×7 flat cards, and $365 for 50 5×7 folded cards.
  • You’ll also get 10% off on any order of pictures from the session

I have been working on many many different templates to use for your holiday cards.  There are plenty to choose from.  Fallowing are just a few sample.  I can make few changes, like add extra pictures into the templates, depending on the numbers of changes, I will charge extra.  Of course, it’s possible to purchase more cards, by increments of 25.

If you’re interested, please contact me by email (arielle@ariellelanghorne.com) or call me (850-341-8135).  I suspect the spots will fill out pretty quick, and although I’ll be glad to schedule extra days for the mini sessions, time is of the essence and by the first week of November it will be too late.

Venice with Yervant

Hi there,
Well, I’m back home and it always takes a few days to get my feet back on the ground. It’s wonderful to be back with the kiddos and Henry, I missed everyone, but I must say that aside from the HUGE leap in improving my skills each workshops gives me, they’re also quite a treat for me. I get a chance to be just me, for a short time nobody is depending on me (no children to take to school, no grocery shopping, no laundry, no mail to deal with.. you get it), but I get to do something that I LOVE, I get a chance to improve, I meet a new community of photography fanatics, and it’s so enriching. I come back each time a happier person, so full of energy to promote my business, a boost of confidence in my talent, and plenty of new tips to better my skills.
Today, I’m only posting pictures from the first day of the workshop in Venice. We were really supposed to just observe Yervant, but you can’t hold back photographers when they see the picture, the light, when all the elements are just there for a good image. And here, of course, with Yervant directing the couple, orchestrating the pose, the use of light… it was just too tempting, this is what we looked like:

By standers really wondered what was happening, was this a famous couple surrounded by an army of paparazzi?, shouldn’t they also take a few snapshots even if they didn’t recognize the famous couple? Maybe a movie?
Thanks to our models: Esther and Erico

Yervant workshop in Venice

I am in Venice, learning with worldwide renown , Yervant from Australia. He is simply put a master photographer, a pioneer in digital wedding photography, setter of all the trends.
The location, the most romantic city ever, is unlike anyplace I’ve ever visited. It’s a photographer’s dream, not only the light is magical everywhere, but you are surrounded by perfect architecture, textures, colors… The models provided for us are gorgeous, wearing some amazing gowns from australians fashion designers. The weather couldn’t be better, I’m in photographer’s heaven! The group attending is fantastic, and Yervant with his wife Anie are wonderful hosts. Words can not describe how ecstatic I am. I feel truly blessed to have a husband so encouraging, allowing me to fallow my dream, he’s back home taking care of our children, and I’m pursuing my passion, always in quest of new inspiration and to better my skills.
A teaser picture, taken on her first day, set up by Yervant:

Violet

  • Babies

Meet sweet little Violet, she was an angel during our session. I think she probably wished I could leave her alone, so she could finally rest, but she did great.

I love that smile,

Babies are so “bendable”,

She was desperately looking for her thumb, … not quite there, almost..
