Family of 6
Last week, I met this beautiful family for a portrait session, we had a great time, and I’m going to have to get together with Kelli to get some parenting tips, her 4 children are the most well behave kids I have ever met. And so sweet too! It was a pleasure, thank you so much for contacting me.

This is Olivia,

And here she is with her big sister, Maya

The oldest, Noah, 10 years. He’s taking his maturing very seriously and showed me the beginning of facial hair…

And the little baby, sweet Christian

Marcus the very hands on dad,

Maya, full of life

And this is the happy reaction you get when you hear the ice cream truck rolling by…

I love this shot of mother/daughter,

Alisa, Anastasia and Lia
I recently photographed Alisa, but this time her godmothers came along, and we took advantage of Pensacola’s beautiful beach. Anastasia and Lia are sisters, both in college and were visiting for a short time. I had a great time with the 3 of them, Alisa is smitten with her gorgeous godmothers, and was very patient with us.

The girls are just striking. I love the contrast of their beautiful long dark hair, Olive skin and Alisa’s blond curls with her fair complexion.

Alisa didn’t care to get to close to the waves, but was very happy in her godmother’s arms.

So, we whipped up this neat little structure for the purpose of the shoot… not really, we just got lucky, found it there, and used it as a prop.

Anastasia and Lia didn’t take one single bad shot, they just have that natural beauty about them, and that very Mediterranean look, coming from their Greek roots.

Mac
This is Mac, so sweet. I know I say this about every baby I photograph, but they’re all so cute! It’s a treat for me to document such strong moments in a family’s life. Mac was really patient with us and played his part being a wonderful model for me.

As you can see here, he was relax.

It looks like he’s doing some sort of sign with his fingers, maybe telling me I get two more shots and then be gone?

I just had to take a picture on the bar.

Charlotte
We have a new baby around the block, little miss Charlotte. So precious… She was so content in her parent’s arms and had no trouble with all my “folding” poses.

She is such a darling baby, I love her expression when her parents are kissing her. Sorry, I wanted to post these before I went to bed but my brain is already in sleep mode, looking forward to a nice rest, and I’m having a hard time with text… I’ll just say this: Charlotte was a dream, very relax and so lovely, like her family and sweet big sister. Who, by the way is adapting very well to the new arrival. (Unlike my daughter Meg, who stayed in denial for a very long time, and just refused to acknowledge the existence of Olivia when talking about or drawing our family)
Michelle & André
I had so much fun taking these pictures. What a sweet couple and man, are they in love!

They were so easy to photograph, being so happy together, they have a permanent smile on their faces. They couldn’t stop laughing..
I did just take this picture a couple of weeks ago, and it’s all green here, but it’s also getting hot in Florida and I can’t help wishing for the gentle fall breeze, so I modified this picture to a fall foliage.

When Michelle looks at her fiance, her eyes sparkle, she radiates joy.

They told me how Andre proposed, he had a friend of Michelle help him set up his plan: she called Michelle to meet her at her family’s restaurant where Andre walked in (in the full of people restaurant), with a boom box on his shoulder playing their song, some roses and an engagement ring, and proposed in front of the crowd…

I asked Michelle to whisper something in Andre’s ear. At first he had a gentle expression, then his smile expanded, and he declared it may be time for them to go home…

My favorite, I think it’s both of their expression, and the soft focus that gives energy and movement to the image.

Happy Father’s Day
I know it’s a little early, but today I feel pretty good about Henry’s (my man) father’s day present. It sure beats my first ever mother’s day present, 10 years ago: a fly fishing rod!!! I tried my best to practice in our backyard everyday for a good 15 minutes, under Henry’s watchful eyes, but never really got into it. I imagine, his ulterior motive was for me to really dig it, then we could go on fly fishing trips together… Well 10 years later, I still try to come up with something more than a new tie, which is a real challenge, since he has very specific hobbies and I don’t know much about them. But last week, he gave me a good tip: he got into his head it would be nice to have a wee game. But of course it’s only good on a flat screen gigantic TV, and since that’s not what we have, his suggestion was then to buy it for his parent’s house, and our children could play it there. Now, summer is hitting our little town, and it’s getting mighty hot to send children outside all day to entertain themselves, so any fun activity is more than welcome, in MY house. Problem is, our family room cabinets just didn’t allow for a spacious modern screen… But in less than a week, I found some amazing carpenter who rearranged the whole setting and low and behold we have a flat screen TV, a full 42 inches, sitting in front of our couch. And Henry had no clue until he walked home tonight and saw the whole area transformed. Man, I feel good about this! I better enjoy it, because I’m afraid it will be a tough one to measure up to in the future…
My good friend Amy, is surprising her husband with some beautiful portraits of her children, printed on a gallery wrapped canvas. I know Philip will love these, here are the pictures we used:

Lizzy and Will,

Jack
Meet Jack, a very sweet little baby. He didn’t really care to play model for me, he just wanted to curl up in his mother’s arms, and fall asleep in peace. I think he did great, though, and his parents will have nice pictures of him in this early stage of his life.

We used a little trick, since Jack found comfort in sucking his pacifier, we would let him sooth himself for a while, remove it fast, and I would have a little window of time to take a quick picture. It didn’t always work, and on this next shot you can tell he was getting frustrated with me. Still, I love the picture, the way he’s grabbing his temples…

He loved this soft blanket, isn’t he sweet?

Anne
I must admit, I’ve been procrastinating (that’s one of the tough words I have trouble pronouncing) posting pictures of Anne. For a good reason, she’s startling beautiful, and looks amazing in every image. Too much choice will send me into indecision orbit…

Anne was on a time restriction, but we made the most of it, and stayed mainly in what they call here “old Pensacola” downtown. I’m always a bit of a snob when it comes to old buildings around here, having grown up in a house built in 1520, and surrounded by roman ruins…

Those blue eyes!

Oops, couldn’t resist taking this shot.

Pushing our time limit, we made one last stop on the railroad track, and I braved my fear of trains, and them hitting us as we stand on their “road” not really looking to see if one’s coming.

Luke
I’m a little behind on blogging. There are more babies to come, an absolutely stunning high school senior, an “E” session of the sweetest couple, a wedding…
In the mean time, meet Luke, who holds 4th position in his sibling hierarchy. I didn’t get to meet the older children, but I saw pictures, and they’re all just as beautiful as mister Luke. Lindsay, thank you for giving me the opportunity to photograph your precious baby.

Lindsay used this picture, below, for their birth announcement.

I love his little hand. I wonder what he’s dreaming about, that had him smiling so big.

Nice stretch on mom’s belly,

Alisa
I had such a good time photographing Alisa, one of my daughter’s friend. She has the most beautiful hair, angelic face and is lots of fun. I forgot to mention energy, she has more than I’ve ever seen, if only I had 1/10 of it…

And her smile!, she’s beautiful in any mood, but when she smiles, it’s radiant.

Her favorite doll, Madeleine, is one of my favorite characters too. We share a lot in common, just like her I went to an all girl boarding school, with a very similar uniform, in Paris, France.

Love that pram,

Arielle! Outstanding! You captured our family perfectly - the unscheduled, not to be tamed, wonderful energy, and tremendous joy we experience with each other daily. Truly our family life is a gift from God. This beats having all of the laundry done any day of the week. What a wonderful reminder to us of what is important.
