1+1=3

Once I saw an adorable baby announcement, it stated: 1+1=3. I found it very witty.
Just a few images here, of Rochelle and Barry expecting their first baby, only a few, because although I like these, I’m way more excited to move on to their baby’s pictures. Not even a week after we did the belly session, little Miss Riley Ann came to the world, early!
Rochelle is very special to me, we met 2 years ago. Here’s what happened. On a very last minute whim, I decided the morning we were leaving for our 6 weeks trip to France, that I had to have a new small digital camera. The idea was to save myself from hauling my huge camera bag everywhere I went while on vacation. So, in the midst of packing (I’m a very last minute packer), I take off with my son, Will, to best buy. There, I zoom in the camera aisle and am greeted by Rochelle, working there. I’m in a rush and know nothing about small digital camera, she is very knowledgeable and determines very quickly what will work for me. During our conversation, she noticed my picture bracelet (I just had it made, it has 5 lovely lockets with a picture of my 3 children, my little Coco and my husband), then she sees Will, and she asks me: “is that your dog?, Is that your son, Will? Are you Arielle Langhorne?” Rochelle recognized Coco and Will from seeing them on my blog, and then tells me she’s a fan of my work…I think my head ballooned up to the size of a watermelon right then! Boy, was I flattered to know someone out there was following my blog and liked what I did. Rochelle, thank you so so much! You made my day then and again, I’m honored now you chose me to photograph your belly and your adorable baby girl.

soon-to-be-parents

I hope everyone has had a wonderful memorial day weekend. The weather in Pensacola was delightful amidst a few showers, which helped in keeping the temperatures down. The kids are out of school, and summer is just starting.
For McKenzie and Gary this will be a memorable summer, with the arrival of their first born, little Miss Grey (I love the name). You know, I’m a big advocate of photographing newborns early on, but really I think, all stages of our lives should be documented. When a women has her body so radically transformed by pregnancy, that’s one of those very special “stages” worth safekeeping with the magic of photography. We may not all gain just the few recommended lbs by our practitioner, but nonetheless, the transformation is spectacular, a rare moment in life, a new life growing inside, a miracle of nature, that will only last a few months…
Thank you for allowing me to celebrate the joy of your new life with images.

These 2 are so in love, one little kiss was all it took to have them relax in front of the camera.

Look at these adorable little sandals Mc Kenzie found for Grey, she’ll be so stylish!

Coming soon, a baby girl

Wednesday probably, I should have Anna Grace on my blog. She was my youngest newborn up to date, only 60 hours into our world. Seriously, just a few days at that tender age makes a world of a difference for me. They sleep a lot and much more soundly in their first 4-5 days of life. Everyday, they develop and become more alert. When you think of it, at 6 days they’re already twice as old as at 3 days. I was so excited to have Anna Grace so early in my studio, that Jenni suggested I request my future clients to just stop on their way home from leaving the hospital.. We’re setting a new trend here.
In the mean time, I’m sharing a few images taken for Charleston’s first birthday, and of Jenni’s belly.

Charleston, in a little Buddha pose,

In great conversation with her grand’ma Soozi,

She loved me, and was very excited when the session was over, because she could blow me many kisses good bye…

Bridget and Colby

A very happy couple expecting their first baby on April 1st. Their pregnancy came as a surprise. Bridget’s Dr. didn’t think she could conceive, but yet a little miracle is about to happen. Along with the discovery of this very special arrival, more exciting news came in, Colby was accepted in medical school! I see a bright future for this young couple, a very happy couple indeed. I can’t wait to meet and photograph little Emerson, and wish you the best of luck in your carriers.

Jenni, Richard and Walton.

I LOVE this family! They are very very dear to me. Henry and Jenni’s uncle, Leo have been friends forever, they share many extraordinary fishing tales together. Really, all of Jenni’s big family has been close to Henry and all have always been so sweet to me. Besides, I’ve photographed Walton when he was just a few days old. He was my first baby model, and one of his pictures remains my all time favorite. I have used that image many times through out town as advertisement for my baby photography. Jenni and Richard are a wonderful couple, beautiful parents, amazing people, I’m so excited to watch their family grow. They are expecting this spring a little girl, Charlie, whom I can’t wait to meet and photograph.

We found a construction truck, and Walton couldn’t resist taking the controls, he’s just beaming!

A little belly,

Here is Walton at 8 days, I remember trying to show Jenni how to pose him, saying just fold him in half. She wasn’t so sure at first, and thought it looked mighty uncomfortable, but she succeeded beautifully.
