Brodie
Dixie
I am so thankful, and it never hurts to acknowledge it, we have been extremely fortunate over the years with wonderful baby sitters. Tayler is one of our very favorites, and today’s doggie is her baby. Dixie is 2 years old, a beautiful mix between a Lab and a Rottweiler. She has gorgeous blue eyes, a luscious shiny brown coat, with the most playful personality. Coco was very happy with her play date. Tomorrow, I plan on sharing a beautiful mom to be. With my adorable assistant, my lovely niece Olivia, I’ve had a very busy week photographing babies, bellies, senior… We are loving the new studio. Once the last touches are done, I’ll post a couple pictures here.

Clover & Lilly
Doggy day! I’m long due for this post and apologize for the delay. Still from the Pet Resort, I have Clover, 10 weeks old, an Alaskan Malamute mix (with Lab), who was brought to me by Theresa. I found my self again ashamed to not be spending more time with Coco, teaching her “obedience lessons”, young Clover already has a large vocabulary repertoire, and could fallow commands in a very impressive manner. A little treat also came in handy…

And if his vocal cords were like ours, I swear he could speak. His facial expressions say just as much probably than words would.

Look at these paws, he still has much growing to do!

Now, doesn’t that face just say “I”m in heaven”?

He looks just like the baby black bear at the zoo,

And this is Miss Lilly, a 12 year old Pomeranian, who came with Kelsey. Kelsey told me that Lilly lost her right eye a couple months ago, I’m glad to say it doesn’t seem to affect her much, and you can’t really tell, none the less Kelsey was a little conscious about it and brought some fancy shades for straight forward shots. It gave Lilly a very Hollywood star look..

Doesn’t she look like she’s about to walk the red carpet, after a great movie performance?

I don’t know why all these dogs just remind me of black bears, but seriously?

Fergie and Keeli
I’ve just arrived in Grand Rapids, MI, and am enjoying the luxury of a very peaceful room in a very swanky hotel, I could get used to this. I’ll say more about this 4 days getaway in a couple of days, with I hope, some beautiful images.
For now, I’m sharing these 2 super cute doggies. Amy is the manager at The Pet Resort, a very swanky pet hotel. Lori is the fantastic groomer, who can tame Coco’s hair when she goes “rasta” on me. Amy came with her 1 year old Boston Terrier, Fergie, warning me that this breed has the peculiar trait to blush when excited or nervous. And blush she did, with lots of begging from Coco to play with her she was in full thrilled mode! She was also very obedient and photographing her was a breeze. Miss Keeli, a mini Dachshund, who came all dolled up with boas and feathers, was also just as compliant. And yes, that is pink nail polish you are seeing on her front paws, perfectly applied! I might have to try that on Coco one day, I know Olivia (my youngest) would LOVE that.

We tricked her into thinking Amy’s pill box was some real cool dog toy,

Check out the nail polish, I would have never thought of it on a dog, it sure matches her hawaiian lei perfectly,

Bowden
This handsome Dachshund gets his name from the very famous Bobby Bowden, current head college football coach of the Florida State University Seminoles. My knowledge in football is very limited, and I must admit I had never heard the name before, but I googled it, and was impressed to read about the very successful career of the head coach in non other than Wikipedia.
Soon after her wedding, Ashley decided to get a puppy, and the condition given by her groom, was that he chose the name. I’m going to take a wild guess here, and venture to say that they are fans of the Seminoles…
I used to be a “big dog kinda girl”, but ever since Coco walked into our lives, I’ve grown to really appreciate the smaller breads. Their big personalities make up for their small size, they have no idea how small they are. Bowden is a proud little guy, very much loved by his parents and grand parents (I’m so jealous, I wish the grand parents in our families offered sleepovers for Coco..).

Bowden will do anything for a treat, he can jump amazingly high, with his long ears flapping,

Can you see him smiling? No doubt he loves Ashley back, as much as she loves him!

Bowden’s daddy says he has a “sexy hour glass” figure, and from above he definitely does,

General Beau Regard
I’ve seen my friend, Barclay’s parent walk their Basset Hound in the neighborhood ever since they moved to Pensacola. But since this past fall, I’ve missed them. They haven’t been able to take him out because he’s been diagnose with cancer and his health won’t allow him his daily walks anymore. However, Mister General Beau Regard, known as Beau-Beau to his intimates, has surprised everyone by outliving his vet’s predicted life expectancy. Like his mama told me, they all though he would be in doggy heaven by Christmas. He is enjoying life on earth, and although he has always been well loved, his illness has brought him some extra dotting that I’m sure is helping his strong will for life. He is treated to some special home made cooking, raspberry scones for breakfast… nothing is too much for Beau-Beau.
He is as elegant as his name, but a bit shy in front of the camera. It’s not just him, I’ve noticed dogs aren’t all that excited to stand on my white paper to be blinded by my soft box… To make matters worst it started to storm that day, and the sound of thunder made him nervous.
He is definitely a “gentledog”, with beautiful manners. I haven’t heard from him in the past couple of weeks and hope he is still enjoying scones..

Dusky
Dusky is an other good friend of Coco’s, mind you she befriends all dogs and people very easily, but his owner, Everett is also one of Will’s best friend. Everett chose the name for his puppy, it’s a species of shark, and also a brand for sailboats, a well rounded name. Dusky is a “Puggle”, a cross breed between a Beagle female and a Pug male, he looks to me just like a small boxer. He is so sweet and playful, also very well trained. it made me think I should take Coco to training class again…
He did pose really well, I’m afraid I found most of his pictures just too cute, and again posted a lot, I hope not too many.

Here is the pug underbite,

Irresistible!

Fergus with An
It’s a doggy post today!
Fergus is just a little over a year old, and came last week for his first model shoot. Coco fell in love. (she’s really pushing me to pursue the dog photography, she gets a play date out of it each time)
The session was one of the funniest ever, this little guy left us with many special memories. He did a wonderful job posing, while I very much enjoyed my visit with his mama.
He’s giving me “the eye”,

He’s checking out Coco, who was batting her eye lashes big time!

I love his mouth on the right picture, a bit crocked,

He’s very happy,

Stormy
Meet Stormy, our Vet’s beautiful Husky. Last week, was our first visit to the East Hill Animal Clinic. Our previous Vet moved too far away for us, and now Coco will be a patient of Dr. Laura Hall. Coco was presenting some very odd symptoms, which had me worried she might turn into psycho dog: every other night she would wake me every couple of hours to go outside. The first night I ignored her, but learned the next morning to run when she called the next time ( I won’t describe the mess, nasty!). The weird thing was the inconsistency of the problem. This went on for 3 nights over a week’s time. I ended up sleeping in the hall way… I was so relieved when Dr. Hall told me she had parasites, I know, some may think that’s yucky, to me it was the best news: Coco’s not out to drive me insane, and we can treat the problem. We are now back on our regular sleep routine, and Dr. Hall is our hero. Coco is seriously thankful for the change of diet that came along with the treatment. She’s always been a picky eater. I guess with Chanel as a middle name you just can’t handle plain dry dog food, but she loves the can stuff, heated in the microwave please for princess Coco.
Stormy is a beautiful dog, with a very strong mind. I’m afraid she had other plans for her morning than playing model for me. She mostly paced around my little studio, anxious to go outside, but with Loraine’s help we managed a few great shots. She was beautiful, after having been pampered at the Pet Resort.

Loulou Belle, Yorkie
Dog lovers, be aware, miss Loulou Belle is A-DO-RA-BLE! She’s as sweet as can be, but of course her small size make her even more irresistible. Her mama was telling me that when they first brought her home, she was so tiny she could fit in her husband’s front shirt pocket! Now, at 3 months, he can still hold her in the palm of one hand. I think she hasn’t reach 1 pound yet.

She was very aware, and we have many cute shots in all different poses.

Patient,

Curious,

Totally digging the cheese treats,

We even brought in Coco into the room, and she became very playful, pouncing…

All the exercise was a lot for her, she settled down

And quickly fell asleep like babies do, very suddenly

La fin. To me her “derriere” reminds me very much of a black bear, only miniature…
